General-purpose mining transformers feature a robust structure and a low-profile design, facilitating easy transport into the mine shaft. The transformer is designed without an external oil conservator; instead, an appropriate clearance is maintained above the oil level within the tank to prevent the buildup of excessive internal pressure should the tank cover's vent become obstructed.
Cable boxes are welded to both sides of the transformer tank walls to accommodate the routing of the primary and secondary cables.
